More than a newsletter…
When I started Practical Growth in 2017, I had no idea what it would become. I spent years surviving things I couldn’t name—until I could. Childhood trauma. Narcissistic abuse. Emotional confusion disguised as love. For over two decades, I studied, unpacked, and finally escaped those dynamics. I became an NLPMP, a coach, and a voice for people navigating the same wounds.
For a while, that was enough—understanding the patterns, finding the language, helping others do the same. But eventually, I hit a wall. I realized that knowing the past wasn’t the same as living in the present. Insight wasn’t integration. And peace couldn’t be intellectualized—it had to be created.
That’s when I started painting.
What began as a quiet, private attempt to feel something turned into something much bigger: a way to come home to myself. I taught myself to paint in the middle of a healing season—and somewhere between brushstrokes and breakdowns, I discovered something powerful:
Creative expression isn’t the reward for healing. It’s the way through it.
Now, I help people not just understand their trauma, but reclaim their voice, their identity, and their sense of wonder through creative recovery. Whether it’s writing, painting, storytelling, or simply making space for self-expression, I believe healing becomes real when it becomes embodied.
This isn’t about becoming an artist.
It’s about remembering that you were never broken—just silenced.
And creativity is how we begin to speak again.
